Still Life: Vase

I haven't really done much still life work, thought I'd go back to the basics. I'm more or less a self taught painter; didn't take any traditional painting classes in school unfortunately. So, I decided that I need to round out my skills a bit better, picked up some more books and tutorials on painting down to the very basic skills of painting light and shadow.

It's a great site by artist Matt Kohr, teaching basics of digital painting and different tips and tricks to better your skills amateur and pro alike.
